Would you like to see your article, blog post, or video on the first page of Google? Well in order for that to happen, you will need to understand how to properly research your keywords. In this article I will explain some tips for keyword research: Why it’s important, long tail versus short tail keywords, and how to incorporate your keywords into your own articles, blog posts, and videos.

The first tip for keyword research I have is to explain why it is important!  Keyword research pretty much sets apart the winners from the average Joes. Also, using the proper techniques could mean the difference on whether the right people find you online … or not. Last but not least, another reason why keyword research is important is to boost your content on the first page of Google. Being on the first page of Google is an amazing way to get a bunch of free traffic to your website!

The second tip for keyword research is the difference between short tail and long tail keyword phrases. A short tail keyword usually is only one or two words. It’s not very specific, usually broad in nature. Also short tail keywords have very high competition. Long tail keywords are usually around three to five words. Long tail keywords have very low competition, and are highly targeted in searches. Also, long tail keywords are highly specific. Long tail keywords don’t get quite as much traffic as a short tail keyword. However, if you do your research right you can pop up to the front page of Google in a short period of time!

The last tip for keyword research is how to incorporate your keywords properly into your articles, blog posts, and videos. For an article or a blog post, after you find the keywords you wish to use, you’ll need to incorporate it in different areas. Include your keyword into the title, and in each paragraph of your article or blog posting. Also try to put the keyword in your author resource box. Now, video is a little different. You’ll want to put the keyword into the title, and also in the description. You can use different variations of your keyword in the tags section as well.

Taking these tips for keyword research into consideration will definitely help you out to get on the first page of Google. Make sure you understand what keyword research is, the difference between long tail and short tail keywords, and how to properly add your keywords in your articles, blog posts, and videos. Definitely put these tips into play, and you might even see your content rise to the top of Google overnight!
